RocketBooks & FriXion Pens – a match made in heaven….but I’ve found some drawbacks so want to share my thoughts and a couple of tips 😉

I bought my first RocketBook late 2022, I have always liked Pilot’s Frixion pens but now HAVE to use them (not a hard thing for me).

I set up my legends to email my pages to my personal email address, work email address, and a few One Drive folders.  I am a very organized person and this was a great thing for me – vs many books (1 for each topic) I can now use one book for it all.

In the beginning, I wrote from the front of the book and scanned pages every day or two – TIP #1 – write on all pages equal amount of times or you will find that only newer pens will work on the pages that are used more.

I then started writing from the back of the book to balance out the pages.

Eventually, I cut the first couple of pages out of my most used book as they were not working with any of my pens, new or used.  This made it easier to ignore those pages or get frustrated with them when I had thoughts I needed to get out but the pen wouldn’t write.

As I started to go through many #FriXion pens, I began to look for sales (many folks in the USA post sales they see at Walmart or Target but I’ve yet to see a sale in Canada).  I am a colour coded type organizer and started off with a full set of blue pens and a set of green, red, purple and had the black pens that came with my #RocketBook.  Tip #2 – buy refills vs pens!  They may not have all the same colours but it’s a good cost saving option.

I work in the paper converting industry (we manufacture envelopes & packaging at #SupremeX) and I am very aware of sustainability programs that help our environment – this is one of them!  Yes, paper is a renewable resource and when we use trees to make paper products there are new trees planted and that helps our environment.

Yes, I still have a paper note book handy as well as a hard copy planner but I use them much less since beginning my relationship with RocketBook, I really like the ability to send my notes to where I need to see them (one drive, email, etc.) and the OCR feature, when I don’t scribble too badly or my pen doesn’t run out, is just awesome!
